Experience

Aaron Hutcherson is a writer and recipe developer for The Washington Post food section. Previous to joining the paper in 2020, he worked as a freelancer and blogger behind The Hungry Hutch, which was a 2019 Saveur blog award nominee and features a delicious variety of savory and sweet recipes. His work has appeared in The New York Times, Food & Wine, Eater, Thrillist, Taste, Serious Eats, Food52, Simply Recipes, and more. Previous to that, he worked in wealth management before changing careers and earning a culinary degree from the French Culinary Institute in New York (now the Institute of Culinary Education).

Aaron grew up in the Midwest, but has called New York City home for nearly a decade. When he isn’t working, most of his free time is spent watching trashy reality television with a glass of whiskey or wine.
