The Absolute Best Vitamix Blender: Vitamix 5200 Professional-Grade Blender
Let’s shout it for the folks in the back: YOU CANNOT BEAT THIS BLENDER! We’ve been recommending the 5200 since Kenji first tested it back in 2014. What’s so great about it? For starters, its tapered blending jar creates a vortex that pulls ingredients into its blades—creating super-smooth sauces, smoothies, and soups. And its control panel couldn’t be simpler to use with just two switches and a dial. It’s all power, no fuss.
The Most Powerful Immersion Blender: Vitamix Immersion Blender
The Vitamix immersion blender is absurdly powerful and comfortable to hold onto (thanks to the silicone padding on its handle). Plus, it has a variable speed button that can easily be adjusted with just your thumb (rare!). Right now, the three-piece set—which includes a whisk attachment and a storage case—is $70 off. (Note: The standalone Vitamix immersion blender is also discounted, but the sale isn't nearly as good as this set.)
A Smart, Sleek Blender: Vitamix A2300 Professional-Grade Blender
With a wide blending canister, an LED screen, and container-recognition capabilities, we think this is a particularly good blender for smoothies. We like that it has a pulse button and a 10-speed control dial—a nice mix of techy and manual features.
A Newer Vitamix Blender: Vitamix Propel Series 750 Blender
This new blender from Vitamix is a good option for those who still want simple controls, but also appreciate some presets (like settings for smoothies, soups, and cleaning). The control panel is actually similar to the 5200, our favorite Vitamix of a decade, but its jar is wider. While it doesn't blend as effectively as a tapered blending jar, it's easier to scrape clean.
An Excellent Countertop Composter: Vitamix FoodCycler FC-50
We actually really, really like this countertop composter. It turns food scraps into compost in a matter of hours and comes with lids that effectively keep smells contained. If outdoor composting is hard where you live and you’ve got the countertop space, give the FoodCycler a go.
A Smaller, Cheaper Vitamix Blender: Vitamix Explorian Series E-310 Blender
This is a fine starter Vitamix. It features a smaller, 48-ounce blending container and a straight-forward control panel comprised of a couple of switches, a speed dial, and a pulse button. It’s not the biggest, most powerful Vitamix out there—but it’s also not priced to be.
A Blender With a Food Processor Attachment: Vitamix A3500 Gourmet SmartPrep Kitchen System
In our test of Vitamix blenders, this one crushed making smoothies. We've also reviewed the Vitamix food processor attachment and found that it worked quite well, shredding beets and blending hummus with ease and aplomb. Right now, you can get the blender and the food processor together for $100 bucks off.
