A red wine base gets a boost of cherry flavor from Cherry Heering liqueur.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pitted sweet cherries, halved
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon juice from 1 lemon, plus 1 small lemon, halved and thinly sliced into thin half moons
  • 2 1/4 cups red wine
  • 6 ounces Cherry Heering
  • 3/4 cup seltzer, chilled

Directions

  1. Combine the cherries, sugar, and lemon juice in a large pitcher. Stir to combine and let sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes for the cherries to release some of their juices.

  2. Add red wine and Cherry Heering to the pitcher and refrigerate 2 hours or up to overnight.

  3. Stir in cold seltzer and the lemon wheels and serve immediately.
