Serious Eats / Ashley Rodriguez

We here at Serious Eats love coffee: Drinking it, writing about it, and testing related gear so tirelessly that we need another cup of caffeine. And, if we do say so ourselves, our coffee recommendations are top-notch. Including one of our favorite French presses: the Coffee Gator French Press Coffee Maker

Why It Won Our Review

Made with layered, double-walled stainless steel, the Coffee Gator French press kept coffee hot, while also being virtually indestructible. In fact, it was one of the top performers in our heat retention tests. It brewed well, too: “The dual filter ensures that grit and coffee sludge don’t end up in the final cup but still produces coffee with the heft you’d expect in a French press,” we wrote. It’s even one of our recommended cold brewers and even comes with a small canister for beans, for those looking to take the setup on the road or to a campsite.
