Dan Souza wrote the Chip Faced! column for Serious Eats. He went to Hungary after graduating from college. While he was there to teach English, he began working at a local restaurant on the weekends. When he returned home, he continued working part-time at restaurants and became convinced a career in food was his calling.

After graduating first in his class from the Culinary Institute of America, he joined America's Test Kitchen in 2008 as a test cook. His career there took off, and he is now the editor-in-chief of Cook's Illustrated and an on air cast member of America's Test Kitchen.
