While here at Serious Eats we’re total nerds about everything coffee (evidence, more evidence, and even more evidence), we also love a nice cup of tea. A sprightly mint, dusky genmaicha, or proper pot of English Breakfast can enliven many a dull, rainy day. But if your water’s too hot, it might ruin the pot, as the old saying goes (okay, we made that up, but it’s cute!). The key to a great spot of tea is the quality of the tea and the temperature of the water—when either is out of whack, an unbalanced brew awaits (the same can be said for coffee, too). Enter the Fellow Corvo EKG Electric Kettle—a sleek offering that’s easy on the eyes and that, in our testing, proved its mettle as a fast, accurate, and reliable kettle.

Why It Won Our Review

When we tested variable electric kettles, we wanted to find one that was accurate, heated up quickly, and was easy to pour from (no hot water dribbles, thank you very much!). The Corvo stood out immediately, with a single knob that could adjust water temps between 135° to 212°F and could do it down to a single degree. The handle also sports a counterweight, which meant there was no risk of hot water escaping—it streamed smoothly into our mugs. Oh, and if you’re looking to have multiple cups of tea or like to start the day with a couple of pour-overs (SO MUCH ENERGY), the Corvo can hold its temperature for an hour—no small feat.
