Grill-seared slices of halloumi cheese make a hearty filling for pita sandwiches. . Joshua Bousel

Salty halloumi cheese browns beautifully on the grill and is perfect for making filling pita sandwiches with tomato, red onion, lettuce, and tzatziki.

Why this recipe works:

  • Halloumi cheese has a high melting point, which means it will brown on the grill without melting away.
  • Tangy and salty halloumi has a robust flavor that makes it stand out in a sandwich.
