Experience

Seattle-bred Joshua Schenkkan journeyed to Seoul, South Korea in 2014 as a Princeton Asia media fellow. He stayed on for several years working in Seoul as a reporter, culture editor, and freelance copywriter.  His experience with Korean cuisine and traditions informed the features he wrote for Serious Eats about kimchi and soju, the food and drink at the heart of Korean culture.  Joshua also reported on the shrimp farming industry for Serious Eats, writing an in-depth article examining the ecological and human cost of shrimp farming and whether technology can actually clean up the industry.
