Stockholm-bred food writer Kalle Bergman is obsessed with simple food, real recipes, and honest cooking, especially traditional fare from his native Scandinavia. Seeing a need for more global digital culinary content, Kalle launched the online international food, drink, and travel magazine Honest Cooking in 2011, featuring hundreds of food and beverage writers, bloggers, photographers, and chefs contributing from around the world. The site quickly became known for its serious culinary debates, fresh editorial content, and mouthwatering recipes, winning Saveur’s Best Group Blog Award in 2012. Through Honest Cooking, Kalle created the NORTH Festival, one of the world’s largest celebrations of Nordic food, held in New York City and Los Angeles.
