Experience

Katie Quinn is a video creator, podcast host, and author. She thinks there is a story to be told everywhere and that food connects people, which is probably why she kicked off her food writing career as a Serious Eats intern way back in the day! Now, she's written two cookbooks and every week she posts food and travel videos to her YouTube channel, QKatie.

Katie is the author of Cheese, Wine, and Bread: Discovering the Magic of Fermentation in England, Italy, and France (2021) and the Avocados cookbook (2017). She also co-hosts the podcast Either Side Eaters on the Food52 Podcast Network. You may have caught her on NBC's Today Show as a contestant on the Food Network's Chopped, or as a judge on Beat Bobby Flay. She attended Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in Paris. Before starting the QKatie brand, she worked for NBC and NowThis News.

Katie's slogan is "keep it quirky" because she thinks life, both in the kitchen and out of it, is more enjoyable if you don’t take yourself too seriously. She currently lives in southern Italy.

What's your favorite condiment?

"Calabrian chili paste! Living in Italy, my former go-to spicy condiment, sriracha, is nowhere to be found—at least not in my town in southern Italy! So I've quickly pivoted to peperoncini macinati! Spicy chili in olive oil is hands-down my new go-to."
