She has helped many cookbook authors produce books, holding diverse roles such as recipe developer, recipe tester, editor, and consultant. Her own cookbook, Modern Potluck, was published in 2016. She added to the Short Stack Edition collection with Cauliflower in 2018.

Donnelly resides in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Here she runs a lip balm company and regularly contributes to several media companies, including Epicurious.com, Everyday with Rachael Ray, Women's Health, and Cherry Bombe. She also is a professional copywriter for several food and beverage brands.
