Education: The University of Pennsylvania, The Culinary Institute of America - Hyde Park
Expertise: Baking, Grilling and Smoking, Recipe Development, Writing and Editing

Leah (She/Her/Hers) is the Senior Culinary Editor at Serious Eats. Leah was a recipe developer and editor with America's Test Kitchen for almost 9 years prior to joining the Serious Eats team. Before her life as a recipe developer, she cooked professionally in restaurants from coast to coast. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and 2 children and is most content while planting spicy peppers in her garden or baking (messily) with her kiddos.

Experience

Leah was a recipe developer and editor with America's Test Kitchen for almost 9 years prior to joining the Serious Eats team. During her time with ATK, she developed recipes for and edited over 20 cookbooks ranging in topic from bread baking to plant-based eating to outdoor grilling and so much more. While there, she also developed recipes and articles for Cooks Illustrated Magazine, Cooks Country Magazine, and ATK's digital platform. She is a graduate from The Culinary Institute of America's Hyde Park campus and the University of Pennsylvania. Before her life as a recipe developer, she cooked professionally in many restaurants from coast to coast. She cooked in 5-star and Michelin-starred fine dining establishments like The Herbfarm and Aubergine Restaurant at L'Auberge Carmel. But she also treasures her experiences of flipping burgers on flattops in her teenage years, and baking and boxing cookies and pies at a wonderful family-owned German-style bakery, while in her twenties.

Education

Leah graduated first in her class from The Culinary Institute of America's Hyde Park campus and the University of Pennsylvania.
