Experience

Lesley Téllez is a Chicana journalist, food writer, blogger, entrepreneur, and author who wrote for Serious Eats about the cookbook writing process as well as how to stock a Mexican pantry. Now based in New York, she spent over a decade in Mexico City, where she attended culinary school and founded a popular food tour company called Eat Mexico.

While running the tour company, she channeled her love of Mexican street food into a cookbook called Eat Mexico: Recipes from Mexico City’s Streets, Markets and Fondas, which focuses as much on the foundational stories of the recipes as it does on the food itself. Her writing has also been published by the likes of Food & Wine, The Kitchn, Saveur, Zagat, The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and others.
