Maggie Hoffman has been an editor and writer covering food and beverage since 2010. Her newsletter, What to Drink, covers cocktail recipes, non-alcoholic drinks, bottle recommendations, and tips for making cocktails at home.

Hoffman is the author of two cocktail books published by Ten Speed Press:  The One-Bottle Cocktail: More than 80 Recipes with Fresh Ingredients and a Single Spirit and Batch Cocktails: Make Ahead Pitcher Drinks for Every Occasion.

She served as managing editor for Serious Eats from 2014–2016. She founded the Serious Eats drinks vertical and was drinks editor of the site from 2010–2014. More recently, she served as senior editor (2019–2021) and then digital director (2021–2023) of Epicurious. She has contributed bar reviews to the San Francisco Chronicle and has published articles in Food & Wine, Bon Appétit, TASTE, Wine Enthusiast, Sunset, Rachel Ray Every Day, Saveur, and others.
