Matthew Amster-Burton is a writer, podcaster, and comedian. He cohosts the hit comedy podcast Spilled Milk with food writer Molly Wizenberg, which reaches over 20,000 listeners and was named a best podcast of the year in 2019 by The New York Times. He has written for Gourmet, the Wall Street Journal, and The Seattle Times, and has appeared in the Best Food Writing anthology six times.

Matthew is the author of the young adult novel Our Secret Better Lives (2017) and four nonfiction books, including Hungry Monkey (2009) and Pretty Good Number One: An American Family Eats Tokyo (2013), which was a bestseller in Japan and has been optioned for film. He lives with his family in Seattle.
