She has a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and English from the University of Virginia; during her degree she focused on digital culture as well as Modern, Postmodern, and postcolonial literature.

From 2017-2020 she also ran Summerhouse, an independent digital magazine dedicated to the D.C. area's creative underground.
