Michelle is a freelance journalist who's written about food history for Serious Eats. Her work also focuses on business, cities, and arts and culture, and has appeared in The Atlantic, Vox, and Literary Hub, amongst others. She has a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and English from the University of Virginia; during her degree she focused on digital culture as well as Modern, Postmodern, and postcolonial literature.
From 2017-2020 she also ran Summerhouse, an independent digital magazine dedicated to the D.C. area's creative underground.
