Nargisse Benkabbou
Nargisse Benkabbou is a London based Moroccan Chef and cookbook author. She is currently Executive Chef at L’Mida Marrakech.
While growing up, her parents filled their kitchen with the flavours of their native Morocco, instilling in Nargisse a passion for exploring her culture through food. After taking a course at Leiths School of Food and Wine, Nargisse transformed her passion into a career, sharing her love for modern Moroccan cuisine initially via her website and pop-up dinners in London.
The popularity of her blog and pop-up dinners led to a book deal and she published her debut cookbook, “Casablanca: My Moroccan Food” in 2018. Casablanca was published in the UK and USA. It has been translated to Spanish, Dutch and German. Nargisse was also one of the Guardian’s Observer’s rising stars in 2018.
Praises for Nargisse and L’Mida have appeared in several international publications and magazines including the Telegraph and Conde Nast Traveller. While she has a strong grasp of traditional Moroccan cuisine, Nargisse’s ultimate goal is to bring 'a breath of fresh air' to Moroccan cuisine. Each dish and recipe that she produces is a celebration of her heritage and a care for simplicity and modernity.
