Experience

Niki Achitoff-Gray is a food writer and the former editor-in-chief of Serious Eats. At Serious Eats, she held roles as associate editor, features editor, and managing editor, but she formally got her start as an intern for the site back in 2012. Niki has also worked at Saveur magazine, done freelance writing and food production, and headed up the now-retired pizza vertical, Slice (RIP!).

Niki’s writing and recipe development has touched on topics like fresh pasta, smoked fish, martinis, prosciutto (and more prosciutto), cheese, corn strippers, and one very Jewish Christmas. She would like readers to know that she still brings Époisses on the subway, but has finally stopped eating in bed

Niki's Desert Island Food: "If I wind up on the right kind of island, I don't even need to bring anything! I'd happily live on fresh uni, oysters, and seaweed salad for the rest of my days."

Education

Niki graduated from Wesleyan University with a Bachelor's in Sociology and French literature in 2009, and completed a culinary arts program at the Institute of Culinary Education in 2013.
