It Excels at Charring Food on the Grill
Like other carbon steel pans, the OXO grill basket heats up quickly. Its perforated surface lets hot, smoky air through to produce flavorful grilled vegetables and seafood. We used this basket to grill cubes of zucchini, loose shrimp, and scallops, and not once did we lose a piece of food to the grill’s fiery abyss.
It Has a Detachable Handle
During our tests, grill baskets with detachable handles were consistently a delight to use. Being able to click the OXO basket’s handle on and off the basket allowed us to close the grill lid fully and maintain high temperatures. We also didn’t have to worry about its handle melting in the high heat (some others did!). When it came time to give the contents a little shake, it was easy to pop the handle back onto the OXO grill basket. This pan also comes with a handy silicone sleeve to keep your hands protected while you maneuver it.
It’s Easy to Clean
The pan comes pre-seasoned and ready to use out of the box. Thanks to its seasoning, cleanup is quick and easy. Since its holes are a bit bigger, we didn’t have any trouble washing away stuck-on foods, as we did with mesh basket models.
