David Little, owner/operator of Barnacle in Seattle, describes Braulio as having juniper-like flavors, plus "minty, warm spices, and hints of chamomile." The amaro is increasingly available in the US these days, thanks to the 2014 acquisition of the brand by Gruppo Campari. Little likes to use it in this spin on a Boulevardier (itself a cousin of the Negroni). Mixed with rye and sweet vermouth, the amaro adds richness and a distinctive herbal, almost menthol-like character to the drink. If you're a fan of whiskey and you like fernet, you'll love this cocktail.
