Ingredients

  • 1 ripe black plum or pluot, quartered
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 lime, cut in half (2 lime quarters)
  • 12 mint leaves
  • 2 ounces white rum
  • Club soda
  • Garnish: mint sprig

Directions

  1. Muddle plum or pluot with sugar into a rough pulp. Add lime and mint leaves and muddle lightly. Fill cocktail shaker with ice, add rum, and shake until very cold, about 15 seconds.

  2. Pour unstrained into 12-ounce serving glass, top with soda and garnish with mint sprig.
