While we look forward to time spent with loved ones, the best part of Thanksgiving is undoubtedly digging into the leftover turkey, stuffing, and potatoes the next day. In fact, many of us intentionally cook enough food to ensure there’s plenty for tomorrow’s breakfast (and lunch and dinner). Of course, that means you’ll need durable containers that won’t leak in the fridge or on car rides home from relatives.
If you’ve been meaning to finally organize your container drawer full of mismatched tops and bases, it’s time to stock up on a new set. When we tested food storage containers for durability, stain and leakage resistance, and lingering smells, the Rubbermaid Brilliance line came out on top. And right now, our favorite glass container set is on sale.
Rubbermaid Brilliance Glass Food Storage Containers
Why It Won Our Review
After our rigorous tests of 10 dishwasher-safe food containers, Rubbermaid’s Brilliance was the clear winner. With tight-fitting, snap-on lids lined with oxygen-sealing silicone, they passed our leakage tests with flying colors—in fact, we didn’t experience a single leak even after vigorously shaking and storing it on its side for 15 minutes. The set evaded lingering odors and stains after being smeared with a turmeric-oil mixture, too, so we’re confident they can easily wash away everything from bright red cranberry sauce to super-sticky sweet potato casserole.
While the Brilliance collection comes in both plastic and glass options, we preferred the glass for reheating leftovers in the microwave (they can even go in the oven). They’re actually able to withstand temperatures up to 450°F and conduct heat evenly without becoming too hot to touch (we can’t say the same about the plastic version). With the holidays just around the corner, we also love that they easily stack—a great way to save space in your inevitably crowded fridge.
