This gin-based drink dates to 1967; it won California tiki bartender J. "Popo" Galsini that year's International Bartender's Association World Cocktail Championship.

Falernum, orgeat, and passion fruit syrup contribute the tropical flavors that make this tart rumless cocktail fit in with other tiki offerings. It's truly delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce passionfruit syrup (such as BG Reynolds)
  • 1/4 ounce falernum
  • 1/4 ounce orgeat syrup (such as Small Hand Foods)
  • 1 1/4 ounce gin
  • 1 cup crushed ice

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Pour unstrained into a tall glass, garnish as desired.
