After earning an English degree from The College of William and Mary, Stephanie Ganz attended Johnson & Wales culinary school and embarked on a nearly decade-long career as a professional chef, working in various spots in the Mid-Atlantic, including a high volume Irish pub, a contemporary French wine bar, and a Top Chef-helmed New American destination restaurant. Ganz has been a daily writer since grade school, and she's worked as full-time writer, focusing on food and culture, since 2018, contributing to Richmond Magazine, Virginia Living, Eater, and Bon Appetit, among other publications. She is a longtime shopper at and advocate for local farmers markets and serves as Capital Region Director of the Virginia Association of Farmers Markets.
