What is your desert island food?

"I would certainly say rice! As bizarre as this might be, I grew up in a country where rice is a major component of our diet. We eat rice with everything from curry to oxtail to jerk!! I can eat rice for all three meals of the day and go to bed like a champ. We eat rice so much that, it should be a national dish of Guyana or at least a part of our national motto!"

What is your favorite condiment?

"My favorite condiment is a Guyanese-style pepper sauce. It is made with a traditional Guyanese wiri wiri peppers with addition of vinegar and salt to preserve it the sauce. It is quite hot and delicious and adds so much flavor to any dish. I recommend it to anyone; just make sure you can handle the heat."
