A few months back, I made a throwaway joke in my article about BLT sandwiches, explaining that "triangles taste better." And let's face it: Triangles do taste better, whether in the form of a diagonally cut sandwich, a slice of pizza or pie, a tortilla chip, or a wedge of watermelon. Leave the squares for the squares, am I right?

Folks on social media seemed to enjoy that idea enough that multiple people suggested I make T-shirts featuring the slogan. So that's exactly what I did, and for a limited time—from now until November 29—you can get your very own Triangles Taste Better T-shirt, while supporting an amazing cause. One hundred percent of the profits from the sales of this shirt will be going to La Cocina SF.

La Cocina SF is a fantastic San Francisco–based nonprofit devoted to helping low-income food entrepreneurs—mainly women of color and women from immigrant communities—develop their dreams into real businesses, empowering them not only to improve their own lives through hard work, but to improve the community as a whole. I'm the son and husband of immigrants, and a strong advocate for women's rights in an industry that has historically been challenging for women to progress in, so this is an issue that is very important to me.

If you live in or have visited San Francisco, you've most likely come across one of the many successful businesses that found their start in La Cocina. Check out their mission page for more information about what they do and who they are. It's inspiring stuff.

For the last few months, I've been working closely with the folks at Cotton Bureau to put together this limited-time-only T-shirt. The illustration is by Mikey Burton, an incredibly talented illustrator who donated his time and worked through countless ideas, iterations, and revisions before finally landing at our final design. The design is printed on high-quality soft cotton and blends (seriously, these are the most comfortable T-shirts I own), and the shirts are available in men's and women's sizes and come in three colors: white, heather gray, and banana cream.

Get one for yourself, get them for your friends and family for the holidays, and share this sale with your whole triangle circle. The more shirts we sell, the better you'll look, and the more money we'll raise for this great cause.

And when you get your shirt, be sure to post photos on Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #TrianglesTasteBetter to show your support (and your shirt!).

Thanks, and happy holidays!
