Zola's culinary journey began in 2016 when she made a cake for her aunt and uncle's wedding. The reception was held at a local Italian restaurant, and after tasting the cake, the head chef offered her a job as pastry chef. After working in restaurants and bakeries for several years, Zola realized her true passion would always be in her role as a home cook and began teaching cooking classes with the King Arthur Baking Company before pivoting to recipe development and food writing.

Zola's recipes and writing have been featured in TASTE, Food52, and Bon Appétit. For the past year, she has written a biweekly recipe column for TASTE called “Extra Good”, which features decadent recipes that are easy and approachable for the home cook.
